How big is WoW Forever?
The Battle.net Shop lists 128 GB of free space on an SSD for both minimum and recommended specs. There's no HDD option in the table; every column says SSD. Clear the space before launch week.
WoW Forever’s minimum specs are Windows 10 64-bit, a 4-core CPU, a 4 GB DirectX 12 GPU and 8 GB of RAM, with 128 GB free on an SSD. It runs on Windows and Mac only, and you can already install it from the Battle.net app.

Can my PC run WoW Forever?
On Windows, press Win + R and run dxdiag to see your CPU, RAM, GPU and DirectX version. On a Mac, check About This Mac in the Apple menu. Then compare against the tables. The recommended tier is pretty modern (RTX 40 series, Core Ultra Series 2, Apple M4), but minimum is a lot more forgiving.
Is WoW Forever coming to console?
Right now it's announced for Windows and Mac only, and Blizzard hasn't said anything official about consoles. What it has confirmed is official controller support, so you'll be able to play on PC or Mac with a gamepad.
How to install WoW Forever
- Update your graphics drivers.
- Install the Battle.net desktop app and log in (create a Battle.net account if you don’t have one).
- Select World of Warcraft, open the Game Version menu above the Play button, pick World of Warcraft: Forever and select Install.
- To play from November 4 you need an active subscription or Game Time. Before that, the client is only open for Early Name Reservation (since October 27).
HD vs SD models and visual presets
Forever lets you pick between modern and Classic visual presets, and between HD and SD character models. HD models get restored Classic animations. Blizzard has also shown rendering updates like flowing rivers in Elwynn, mist over Darkshore's waters and moonlight in Ashenvale.

Why is the GTX 750 Ti supported if minimum specs say GTX 10?
Blizzard distinguishes a supported GPU architecture from meeting minimum specs. GTX 750/750 Ti and GTX 9xx are support examples but remain below minimum requirements. GTX 760/770/780 and GTX 8xxM are unsupported. A higher model number alone isn't enough.
Checked September 20, 2026: this doesn't lower the minimum-spec table above or promise a particular frame rate. Check your exact GPU model; compatibility isn't a performance benchmark.
An installation warning mentioning your operating system isn't a diagnosis by itself. Kaivax links to this GPU explanation in a September 18 reply about such a warning; the reply does not establish that every installation failure is GPU-related.
