What to know before you start WoW Forever: subscription, rulesets, name reservation and Invite-A-Friend codes.
Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes give a friend WoW Forever access from November 4 to 11, 2026 without a subscription. Heroic comes with 1 code, Epic and the Collection with 3. Codes arrive by email; Blizzard said on October 29 that they had started going out and don't grant beta access.
WoW Forever early name reservation opened October 27, 2026 at 18:00 CET in Europe and 1:00 p.m. PDT in North America, and runs until November 3. Every character has two names; only the full name must be unique in your region.
WoW Forever is a permanent third World of Warcraft game next to modern WoW and Classic: reimagined vanilla-era Azeroth, level 60 cap, included with a subscription or Game Time. Worth it if you like Classic's pace; skip it for rated PvP or Mythic+.
WoW Forever isn't free to play, but there's no box price either: it's included with a WoW subscription or Game Time, from $14.99 / €12.99 a month. Skyborne upgrades are optional and start at $29.99 / €29.99.
WoW Forever has no realm list: you pick Normal, PvP or Roleplaying, with Hardcore coming in winter. To play with friends you need the same region, ruleset and faction, and there's no free switching between rulesets later.
WoW Forever isn't sold as a separate game: an active WoW subscription or Game Time gets you in. It launches November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST. Here's what to do, in order, from install to your first dungeon.
Blizzard hasn't announced any character transfer or copy from Classic, Anniversary or modern WoW into WoW Forever. LFG, dual spec, arenas and a console version haven't been announced either.
